The Mickey Mouse Shield
Just caught the closing stages and penalties.

Seems a bit of an over reaction from both managers and the players to the outcome? Don't remember anyone other than the Mourinho Ego caring about it before.

Declan is buzzin, buzzin, buzzin..

Two unbearable clubs

When is the European Supercup?

Do West Ham get to be mascots for the day having won the Europa League Conference?

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
I would never count this as a proper trophy, and wouldn’t bother going to it or celebrating if we won it. Same goes with the pointless European Super Cup or World Club Cup.

You can quote me on this in the unlikely event that we ever play in one of these glorified friendlies in the future.

We wouldn't be calling it a Mickey Mouse shield if we were playing in it.

Yep, didn’t make any of the comments any less cringeworthy…..

Watched for a bit. Strange to see Rice in another kit, he hasnt settled yet, a couple of his marauding moves forward or attempts to press and win left gaps.

Apart from that, detachment.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
The post-match interview with Dec popped up on my YouTube, so being only 2 mins i though fuck it, why not!

Not sure how many times he said he was Buzzin but he must think he's a fucking Bee or something? Fuck sake once would have been enough..........seemed very nervous i thought as well!

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
I don't think Arsenal moving Rice further up the pitch will work.

You'd think if you were spending £100m on player, then you'd play him in his best position rather than try and change him into something he's not.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
Arsenal don’t have a proper striker. It’s going to cost them. They really didn’t need to spend 100 bags on a player who they sub when they need a goal…
And then put Nketia on lol

I’m just happy for the great bit of business we did there tbh. Just wish our club could be trusted to spend it properly.

I remember some of the comments on here after we knocked out Man City in the League Cup on penalties……by parking the bus…

Sven

Spot on.

Any money (which isn't a huge percentage) after running costs and "fees" they do give is for local FAs for community schemes. Whilst still a worthy cause it is not counted as charity.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
The friendly was rebranded from CHARITY shield to COMMUNITY as it wasnt legal to use CHARITY unless a certain % of the takings were donated to CHARITY.
Given the choice the name was changed rather than the donation raised.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
I wonder how many people would be moaning if we were at Wembley winning it.

There are also so many playing down Confrence League. If you didn't celebrate then fair enough but if you did, then clearly it WAS important.

I totally get the concerns for this season, I have them myself but that's not a reason to moan about literally everything in football.

I guess Dec has learned what it’s like being hooked since he’s been there

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
CHARITY begins at home, they say.

WE won a European (foreign) competition in a European (foreign) country.

More chance of the team who finished 21st in the PL last season being offered the match than us being invited.

This Arsenal ( Rice ) obsession is getting a bit embarrassing now.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
Arsenal were awarded a place in this match for winning fuck all.

Should have been us, on the basis that winning the Europa Conference League trumps ManU's League Cup

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
Agree 100% LAF.

So many (rightly) slag off Moyes for his dinosaur tactics, yet when Rice claims he's learned so much in his three weeks he gets slagged off.

With the state the club is in at the moment how can you have a go at the future captain of England for jumping ship?

Grow up, the lot of you.

Here we go. A whole season of Rice hating comments. Tiresome. Move on.
